GOEL EP ltd. was founded in 2018 and has been providing geological advise to the energy resource and storage sector since then. Initially our work was hydrocarbon led, and largely exploration focused, we (like many) are now experiencing a shift toward providing services which embrace a broader range of subsurface insight as allied energy and storage solutions gather momentum through the ‘energy transition’.

RECENT PROJECTS

Recent examples of GOEL EP involvement are global and include; Maturing an emerging gas play for a Dutch Independent oil and gas company, Focal point for the execution and monitoring of UK operated exploration oil well, Petrophysical advise and probabilistic volumetric assessment of Eocene Carbonate oil discovery in the Caribbean (reserves now independently certified via CPR). Carbon storage screening and volumetric assessments (numerous across NW Europe)

AFFILIATIONS

GOEL EP are at the forefront of R&D and have been involved with ENRGeo ( Home - ENRGeo – a Deeper Mind for Exploration) which is focused on augmenting exploration by replacing human intensive workflows with advanced AI and machine learning workflows, projects so far have been in oil and gas (seismic and petrophysics), CCS, minex and water quality.

GOEL EP TAKES FLIGHT!!!

We have a long fascination with rocks but also flight…why not combine the two?? we are honoured to have helped fund the UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) campaign over Cape Greco, Cyprus. A beautifully exposed Miocene Carbonate reef. The results have been integrated into a recent abstract presented at the 2021 EAGE in Amsterdam. We hope to drill the outcrop and are looking for means to fund this important reservoir analogue (long shot, but you never know!). CCS PUBLICATION - EAGE PRESENTATION 21 oCTober

We have been involved in a recent CCS publication; ‘A fill and spill CCS Mega-fairway in the SNS; A new concept to optimise CO2 storage’ where we apply the familiar fill and spill charge model to a series of Bunter closures in the UK SNS, why do this? We think it helps optimise injection, storage efficiency and monitoring. The acreage straddles the Endurance storage licenses, so this is a very timely piece of work and will hopefully be well received. MACHINE LEARNING; CONGRATULATIONS!

On behalf of ENRGeo we recently helped supervise an incredible Imperial College MSc student; Promise Ekeh. Her project ‘ A Supervised Machine Learning Approach to Log-Based Lithology Labelling of the North Sea’ was awarded a distinction and won the London Petrophysical Society Prize for outstanding thesis with a petrophysical component - what an achievement, well done!

NEW LOGO (and desk)

GOEL EP have a new logo, thanks to Crystal and Juniper for the design work. We have no idea what the logo is or what the name means, so together they make perfect sense! It will be unveiled by stealth at the EAGE 2021 in Amsterdam. It probably will not be coming to a T-shirt near you soon. Good work.
